SANE Programs Enter Data Into the sane-sart.com National Database
The Sexual Assault Resource Service continues to further develop the data collection of individual victim information on this Web site in an effort to assist SANE programs to work cooperatively and share information in order to learn from the experiences and successes of each other.
By participating in the SANE Program national database, programs will be assisted in setting up the procedures for obtaining important feedback information. Once it is entered into the database, programs will be provided information to evaluate their own results and compare their results to those in other regions. It is expected that by having better information about the results of evidence collection and utilization, SANE-SART programs will be able to identify strengths and weaknesses and improve their evidence collection and prosecution rates in future cases.
(For further information, click on About This Web Site in the Topics menu and scroll down to SANE Program National Database Goal.)
To meet this goal, we are accepting applications from SANE programs to participate by entering individual victim data (excluding identifying information) in the sane-sart.com national database. These SANE programs will have access to aggregate data from all participating SANE programs, as well as access to all other resources provided on this Web site.
There is no membership fee, however each interested SANE program is required to submit a completed Application Form for review (see National Database Application section below).
If the Application Form completed by your SANE program is accepted:
Your SANE program will be expected to:
--Enter case data on a timely basis.
--Provide follow-up information on all cases entered into the sane-sart.com national database (e.g. laboratory results and legal case outcome).
The Sexual Assault Resource Service will:
--Provide complete data collection software free-of-charge (similar programs are sold for a minimum of $500.)
--Provide analysis of your data free-of-charge. Your SANE program's data will always remain on the computer on which it was entered, available for further analysis anytime your SANE program desires.
--Provide national aggregate data for comparison purposes.
--Assist with developing a system for collection of follow-up data on your clients (e.g. rape kit evidence results and legal case outcome.)
