Taking SANE-SART Online + Clinical Courses
SANE-SART Online + Clinical courses are designed to be taken on computers with Adobe Flash installed. Mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets, that
prohibit the use of Adobe Flash are not supported.
This media-rich program requires a broadband Internet connection with at least 512Mb/s of download speed.
The SANE-SART Online + Clinical curriculum consists of five courses for law enforcement, victim advocates and prosecutors or legal professionals, and six
courses for SANE candidates. All courses in a curriculum are required, but only your discipline-specific course is scored.
If you are having trouble registering, contact the program administrator at email@example.com who will assign the appropriate
discipline-specific curriculum to you and discuss payment options. Providing your phone contact information will expedite our response.
Of special interest is Break the Silence: Sexual Assault and the SART Response. Whether you’re new to the SART model, or a seasoned veteran, this SART
awareness video addresses the severity, complexity and impact of sexual assault in Indian Country and rural areas, and the power of a SART to provide
victim-centered care and justice. The video is also an excellent community resource. If you’re interested in accessing a copy for use in community and civic
meetings, contact the program administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Time to Complete the Assigned Courses
You should be able to complete your SANE-SART Online + Clinical curriculum in approximately 40 hours. We encourage you to move at a pace with which you are
comfortable. This will help ensure you do well, but also make the learning experience enjoyable. The goal is to demonstrate mastery of the content.
Ending a Session
Remember, you do not have to complete your curriculum, or a course within your curriculum, in one session. Before ending a session, though, be sure to complete
the Challenge on which you are working. Exit a course after completing a Challenge by clicking the Exit button at the upper right of the screen. When you next
sign-in, we'll bring you to the correct location within the course.
If your sessions unexpectedly, (including issues such as computer crashes or a dropped Internet connection), the system will do its best to remember your
progress and allow you to continue where you left off after you next sign-in. However, you may have to repeat some of the steps you had already completed.
Scoring and Successful Completion
While all courses in your curriculum are required, only your discipline-specific course is scored. Your results will be tracked as you progress through the
course. To successfully complete your discipline-specific scored course, you must score 90% or higher, meaning you selected a correct —or most appropriate— Solution
on either the first or second attempt for 90% or more of the steps in all of the Challenges combined.
At the end of your discipline-specific course, your final score will be calculated and your results will be displayed. If you successfully complete your
discipline-specific course a Congratulations screen will appear. You will then be directed to exit the course, which returns you to your home page where the next
course in your curriculum will be unlocked.
If you did not achieve a score of at least 90%, you will have the opportunity to take the full course again. Read the information on the screen for directions
on how to proceed.
How to Pass Your Scored Course
Thoroughly review all Challenge Resources and More Info items for the information you need to solve each Challenge and successfully complete your
discipline-specific course. The correct or appropriate solutions for each Challenge are based on best practices as determined by the SANE-SART Online + Clinical
subject matter experts.
Your institution or jurisdiction may follow other policies, procedures or protocols. However, to successfully complete your discipline-specific course, you are
strongly advised to follow the information contained in the Challenge Resources and More Info items.
